We love design, in all its shapes, colors and sizes. We are also convinced that 1+x minds are better than just one lonely one… so everyday we brew some -preferably Stumptown- coffee, look at some bad/good/great design, have some bad/good/great ideas and the begin to contribute various forms of design. “Paperwhite”, because we believe every project is a clean slate, an open frame, the promise of a new day. We love to learn, and take that opportunity with every project that we undertake.
Laureen likes coffee, cookbooks and all things perfect bound. She grew up in ny and presently calls the lower east side home, but her label clearly states imported from france, made in marrakech. Four years at RISD instilled her in love for the craft of design, appreciation for details, and adoption of the mantra: anything goes. With that last belief at heart, she founded paperwhite studio to create environment that she hoped would whisk like minds and hearts to simmer, marinate, mix, combine… If you see her buy her a coffee with cream, no sugar.
Yuliya is originally from Tbilisi, Georgia. She grew up rubbing elbows with some of the old communist but had to trade in the bread lines and the politics for the surf and the internet when she moved to Northern California’s Silicon Valley. After high school, Yuliya flew east to RISD before making her move to nyc. Her love hate relationship with new york makes her leave sometimes, but always comes back for more. Her dream – to build a house out of books, and then never leave it. In the meantime, she is content with bookshelves and bookstores… good thing new york has many of those. If you see her around, give her a hug.
we don’t have any friends yet …
